From Mark Prater, the Executive Director of Sovereign Grace Churches:
By now I’m sure you have seen or read about the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey in southeast Texas. Record rainfall has caused major flooding leaving people homeless or displaced. I’m aware of at least two families, who are members of Sovereign Grace Church in Pearland, TX (south Houston), who have lost their homes. The needs are real, and because we are a “family” of churches they affect us all in Sovereign Grace.
To help with the growing needs caused by Hurricane Harvey, Sovereign Grace Churches is establishing a “Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.” The money given to this fund will be used to help meet the needs of members of Sovereign Grace churches in southeast Texas, and the needs that other churches and people have who live in the areas affected by Harvey. How the funds are dispersed and used will be determined by the South-Central Region. This approach will expedite the release of funds, and it allows our pastors, who are closest to the devastation of Harvey, to make the decisions.
Should you or your church want to make a donation to our relief fund, you can do so here: http://sovereigngrace.com/hurricane-harvey-relief
Please join me in praying for all those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Pray that God would provide food, shelter and essential needs for those who are homeless or displaced. Pray that God would provide short-term, and long-term housing for those who lost their homes. Pray for the first responders, FEMA workers, and volunteers asking God to give them strength as they serve. And pray that God would provide gospel opportunities as the Sovereign Grace churches in southeast Texas serve their communities.
With appreciation for our Sovereign Grace family,
