The Grace Covenant Church Mission Fund is a fund of pledged support above our current giving that will be divided into four categories of mission. The categories are (1) Together We Build, (2) Church Planting, (3) Local Impact and (4) Global Impact.
- Together We Build – A portion of what is given to the Mission Fund will go towards building or purchasing our own church facility. Having a building alone is not our mission. Establishing a community presence that can be used for ministry to the church body and community throughout the week is part of our mission.
- Church Planting – We are committed to making disciples through the planting of local churches. A portion of what is given will support church planting interns and regional church plants.
- Local Impact – God has placed us in Jacksonville and the U.S. and we want the gospel to spread. A portion of what is given will support Cru, First Coast Women’s Services, RUF, and outreaches to those in need.
- Global Impact – Our mission is a global one encompassing all peoples and nations. A portion of what is given will support the Nugent’s, short-term missions and other global missions efforts.
As you can see, it is much more than a Mission Fund, but rather clear goals of what we want to give, pray and serve towards.
Our next Mission Sunday will take place January 2018. Between now and then, you can start a pledge at any time by simply filling out a pledge card for 2017. Would you please pray about what the Lord would have you give? We don’t want anyone to give under compulsion. But we are praying for more of a heart like the Macedonians who begged Paul to be a part even though they were extremely poor themselves (2 Cor. 8:2-4).
If you have questions, please check out the FAQ or speak with one of the pastors.
Just think about what God might want to do as we give, pray and serve in these ways. Imagine being able to have a building that we use for ministry because we slowly but surely set aside funds. Imagine a day where churches are planted out of GCC and we are training church-planting interns on a regular basis. Imagine that we have such an impact on our local community that many are coming to saving faith and being added to our number. Imagine meeting people, whether in this life or in heaven who were in a place not yet penetrated by the gospel, but they heard and believed because of the part we played. It will all be on account of God’s grace, but it will also be because God is using us to play a part in his mission.
