Certain areas along the coast of Jacksonville and St. Augustine were hit particularly hard by Hurricane Matthew. One such place was St. Francis House. St. Francis House is a homeless shelter and food pantry in downtown St. Augustine. It is a place where the youth were able to serve this summer. Their whole property flooded, and until it is repaired they are unable to serve meals to the 50+ poor who come to them each day.
Chris & Allie Olsen have arranged to prepare and serve three meals over the next couple of weeks. If you would like to help prepare and/or serve these lunches, I’d invite you to get involved.
Here are the dates:
- 11/13 prep for 11/14 meal: Black Beans & Rice with Cuban Bread & Cake Squares
- 11/16 prep for 11/17 meal: Chili & Baked Potatoes with Crackers & Brownies
- 11/20 prep for 11/21 meal: BBQ Chicken Sandwiches with Broccoli Salad & Cupcakes
