Today we are going to sing a couple of new songs as we gather for worship. They are from an album just released from Sovereign Grace Music entitled, “Prayers of the Saints.” What a gift it is to have songs rich with truth from God’s Word and designed to sing as a congregation!
From Mark Prater, the Executive Director of Sovereign Grace Churches:
By now I’m sure you have seen or read about the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey in southeast Texas. Record rainfall has caused major flooding leaving people homeless or displaced. I’m aware of at least two families, who are members of Sovereign Grace Church in Pearland, TX (south Houston), who have lost their homes. The needs are real, and because we are a “family” of churches they affect us all in Sovereign Grace. [Read more…]
This past weekend many of our men traveled to Alabama for a Regional Men’s Retreat. It was a powerful and impacting time with the Lord and with other men in Sovereign Grace seeking to know nothing else other than Jesus Christ and him crucified. Here’s how Apostle Paul spoke about other churches, [Read more…]
I wish each of you could have heard from Songhwan Kang, Wolfgang Wegert, Carlos Contreras and others in Sovereign Grace beyond the bounds of the United States. While separated by many miles, language and culture, we share in the same Savior and his mission of making disciples of all nations.
What separates the Sovereign Grace Pastors Conference from most other evangelical conferences is a focus on worship and ministry. We just don’t seem to be in a rush. Magnifying the Lord and allowing his Spirit to minister to our needs is a priority when pastors gather just like it is for our local church.
This year’s theme for the Sovereign Grace Pastors Conference was The Pastor and the Word: Standing on Truth in a Shifting World. Sovereign Grace’s mission of planting and building local churches finds primary expression in how they invest in and care for pastors. Though the teaching is designed for pastors, anyone who listens to the messages will agree that their reach goes far beyond. Here’s a list of the main sessions:
