One of the joys of being part of Sovereign Grace Churches, is gathering with other like-minded folks for rich times of teaching, fellowship and ministry. On February 19-20, Redeemer Church of Lake Nona hosted Bob Kauflin for a conference entitled, The Gathering. Bob is the Director of Sovereign Grace Music and a friend.
The purpose of this conference was to equip Pastors, Worship Leaders, Musicians and anyone who wants grow in worshiping God. The time was aimed at understanding better how the gospel is to be at the heart of our gatherings and how we can ensure people leave our times together with a greater love for God’s glory in the face of Jesus Christ.
Beth Karadeema attended the conference and I want you to hear how she was affected:
The conference made me even more thankful for being part of a Sovereign Grace church instead of a stand alone church. I heard Joe & Aaron talk about that before, but oh my…I felt like I was family down there. During the conference, I went to Sheree Phillip’s workshop and the Lord used it in an incredible way in my heart and life. On Sunday, I worshipped with Redeemer Church and I was so comfortable there, much like I felt on my first week at GCC. But the family of churches and attention to the simplicity and purity of the gospel is just incredible and made me so appreciate it even more.
I hope the experience Beth speaks of is what happens every time we gather in the name of Christ. We want his gospel to become sweeter, and we want these truths to drive deeper.
